About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Backup and Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data protection across SGH. This role will focus on technologies such as Air Gap Backup (Commvault) and HYCU, and will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and enabling rapid recovery in the event of disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise backup solutions to ensure reliable data protection and retention.
• Develop and regularly test disaster recovery (DR) plans to maintain business continuity during system failures or cybersecurity incidents.
• Implement and manage Air Gap Backup strategies using Commvault to protect critical data from ransomware and other cyber threats.
• Deploy and optimize HYCU backup solutions for seamless data protection and recovery.
• Ensure data integrity, encryption, and compliance with security best practices and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with IT and Security teams to respond to incidents and restore systems and data efficiently.
• Conduct regular backup and DR testing to validate system resilience and identify improvement areas.
• Automate backup and recovery processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NCA, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Educate internal teams on disaster recovery best practices and backup policies.
• Document backup strategies, DR procedures, and incident reports to support audits and reviews.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in backup management, disaster recovery, or business continuity planning.
• Proven expertise in backup platforms such as Commvault, HYCU, Veeam, or similar.
• Strong understanding of data protection regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure system resiliency.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across departments.
• Preferred certifications: CBCP, DRCS, or vendor-specific backup and recovery certifications.
